Metropolitan Museum Cleveland Museum of Art. He was flying high and so published a tongue-in-cheek autobiography, titled The Boz , in which he made claims of drug use and other excesses by Sooner team members. However, football took a major toil on his body and Bosworth's shoulders soon proved to be his undoing. His right shoulder had already been problematic and issues with the left one eventually rendered him unable to perform.

After consultation, the Seahawks decided Bosworth's health situation was too risky from a legal standpoint to keep him on the field. After lengthy build-up as one of the most promising players to come along in years, the year-old's pro career was over after a mere 24 games spread out over three seasons. After laser surgery and therapy helped to make him more physically functional, Bosworth's ongoing relationship with agent Gary Wichard - later cited by Cameron Crowe as one of the inspirations for his hit film "Jerry Maguire" - helped him segue into a new arena.

Former NFL football stars like Jim Brown and Fred Williamson were able to move on to successful big screen careers and with his good looks and larger-than-life persona, Bosworth seemed like a natural as an action hero. He was granted the starring role in his first feature, "Stone Cold" , which cast him as a tough undercover cop assigned to infiltrate an especially dangerous motorcycle gang.

What an incredible writer and competitor. A tour de force! If you loved Leviathan or Ulysses but never thought it was in depth enough this is the book for you. This is of course a tough read, and keep a dictionary on hand to understand his vast vocabulary. Tai Kaku. I was surprised that he was quite candid in this book about himself. The stories are hilarious.

I expected him to be egomaniacal but he talks about his own shortcomings. It focuses mainly on his time at OU, especially his relationship with Switzer. If you're looking for some information on his time in Seattle, it's pretty limited since the book came out after he was drafted by the Seahawks. Chase Parsley. Hilarious and full of insights - the Boz is more interesting than expected!!

And guess what? The book hit its target. Within this book I learned that his dad was hard on him when he was a kid, which I believe fueled his obsession with being a great inside linebacker in college and in the pros. I also learned in this book that Bosworth was actually a solid student at Oklahoma, but no one really cared about that because of what he did on the football field at OU and because of his party animal lifestyle off the field.

Yeah, this book came out at the end of the s and much has changed in Bosworth's life since the book's publication. But the book is a good read on a man who was misunderstood, controversial self-inflicted much of the time though , and who at the end of the day wanted to live his life to the fullest. Jason Evans. Rob Rains. Read this in one evening.
